Shipping & Return Policy

SHIPPED DIRECTLY TO YOU

Most orders ship by the next business day. No expedited or express service is available.

Other shipping charges may apply to oversize or overwight items. Hazardous Materials charges may apply to select items. Ammunition, pepper spray, and hazardous materials or chemicals cannot be shipped via air carrier. We will alert you to any additional shipping charges that may apply and gain your approval prior to shipping.

IN-STORE PICKUP

For in-store pickup, please keep in mind that most orders require time to transfer from off-site locations. We will call or email you once your order is ready for pickup. If you need an item right away we ask that you call us to confirm that the product is available before heading over to our store. Unless special arrangements are made in advance, orders not picked-up within 15 days after notification that an order is ready may be restocked and may incur a 10% restocking fee. Shipping and hazardous materials fees are non-refundable.

We sometimes use other companies (third-party service providers) to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders and delivering packages. They need access to some personal information in order to perform their duties but may not use this information for other purposes.

RETURNS

For returns of purchases made from our retail store, please bring the merchandise to the store at 427 Broadway, El Cajon, CA 92021 or call us (619) 579-5152. Returns for in-store purchases are governed by in-store policies.

NOTE: Please refer to Policy for Online Purchase of Firearms for additional terms and conditions that apply to firearms purchased for pick-up in our store.

You may return most unused items purchased on-line from the El Cajon Gun Exchange within 30 days of the original delivery. We will pay UPS Ground return shipping costs if the product is found to be defective or the return is caused by our error. All returns are subject to our Return Policy as stated at time you placed the order.

No returns or exchanges for any reason after 30 days of receipt.

All returns must have a return authorization (RA) number clearly marked on the outside of the package or the item will be refused. A return authorization number can be obtained by phone or email. No returns accepted after 30 days from receipt or pick-up. Ship returns via Ground UPS or insured US Mail (we do not accept CODs). We will refund the return shipping costs on damaged or incorrect merchandise.

Labor fees are not refundable.

Returned merchandise that appears used will be refused.

SHIPPING CHARGES AND DROS FEES FOR IN-STORE PICKUP OF FIREARMS

If you are accepting delivery in-store of a firearm ordered on line from us, a shipping charge of not less than $20 per firearm will be added to your firearm order.

A $25 DROS fee (Dealer Record of Sale) will also be added for each handgun as they are processed separately. *Multiple long guns processed simultaneously incur only one $25 DROS fee.
*This may change in Jan 2014 when the state of CA starts registering long guns.

Law enforcement seeking to purchase non-roster handguns should call the store directly at 619-579-5152.

NON RETURNABLE ITEMS

The following items may not be returned:

  • Ammunition - all ammunition sales are final.
  • Gun Powder, Primers & cannon fuse - all hazmat fee items including but not limited to reloading components sales are final.
  • Opened DVD's, CD's and Cassettes, books and other media will be exchanged for the same title only.
  • Opened pepper spray.
  • Air guns
  • Black Powder guns
  • Firearms - see Policy for Online and Out of Area Firearms Purchases
  • Any scope, rings, or bases that have been installed.
  • All Electronics - including but not limited to lasers, range finders, scales, nightvision, and electronic sights.

SHIPPING DAMAGE

If the item is damaged in shipping notify the carrier at time of delivery if at all possible.

IMPORTANT: In all instances of shipping damage, all original packaging material must be saved. If the item is returned for any other reason, you are responsible for the return shipping costs and you will be charged a restocking fee of 10 percent. No returns will be accepted after 30 days. We will credit you in the same manner as your original payment within 7 business days of receiving the returned item. Non-defective items MUST be in new, re-sellable condition, with original packaging. If retail packaging is missing or incomplete or irreparably damaged, a restocking fee of 10 percent will be charged.

BACKORDERS

We are working on it but at this time we do not offer a backorder service.

Occasionally, items are unexpectedly out of stock or unavailable. These items will not be backordered. If this should occur, you will be contacted for your instructions to either cancel the order or to ship a partial order. Your credit card will only be billed for merchandise that is actually shipped. You will be asked to approve any changes in shipping prior to charging your credit card.

ON-LINE FIREARM PURCHASE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AGREEMENT


For in-store firearm pick-up only

Firearms transactions cancelled by you after shipping, or because you fail to provide the documents required by law or fail to comply with all applicable laws governing your firearm transaction, or because your transaction is denied by a government agency, will incur substantial restock, storage and admin fees. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before ordering firearms on-line. Firearms exchanges done at your direction are treated as cancelled firearms transactions.

Once you are in the store, your signature will be required on our Firearms Bill of Sale to proceed with the in-store pickup.

You must be a California resident to pick-up a firearm from our store. Please see our Gun Buyer's Guide for the qualifications and documents required to buy a firearm or please contact us at info@elcajongun.com or call us directly at (619) 579-5152 T-F 10AM-5PM PST


CANCELLATION FEES: Cancellations waste shipping costs, tie up valuable merchandise and storage space. Cancellations also create records required by state and federal law that must be maintained by ECGE. Our cancellation fees are set accordingly. Cancellation of an on-line web order after shipping, for any reason, will incur an admin fee of $75 AND a restock fee of 25% of the purchase price PLUS $2 per day storage for each day over 30 days from the purchase date. DROS fees are not refundable after submission to DOJ. Undelivered on-line web order guns are cancelled and restocked 90 days after notification that the firearm is in the store unless other arrangements are made.

State fees are not refundable after the state paperwork is submitted. Shipping costs are not refundable after the firearm has been shipped.

With certain exceptions for active law enforcement officers, consigned handguns, curio/relics and those single shot pistols and single action revolvers that qualify, handguns sold by firearms dealers in California must be on the California Approved Handgun List.

Please check this list or call us at 619-579-5152 before placing an on-line handgun order.

Except for active law enforcement officers, magazines with a capacity of greater than 10 rounds of ammunition and certain firearms, including but not limited to "assault weapons" as defined by California law, are illegal and cannot be processed. If you have ordered one of these we will do our best to find a legal version or alternative for your consideration.
ECGE does have a high capacity magazine license which allows us to handle these for our law enforcement customers.
ECGE does not have an "assault weapons" license and accordingly will not conduct any transactions of this class of firearm..

Orders for firearms ECGE determines to be illegal, or "gray" area firearms will be declined.

All firearms incur shipping charges above and beyond our shipping charges calculator. Firearms also incur state fees, and State and Federal regulations/restrictions and documentation requirements apply to all firearms transfers.

Handguns may cost more to ship because they are shipped by air as an anti-theft precaution. Please see our Gun Buyer's Guide or call us at (619) 579-5152 for requirements and restrictions applying to firearms purchases before ordering a firearm.


For Law Enforcement

Active law enforcement customers are requested to contact the store directly at 619-579-5152 to order non-roster handguns or hi cap magazines. Sorry - California does not extend these exceptions to retired law enforcement.

For Out of Area Firearm Purchasers only

Where not prohibited by law, we do offer FFL transfers for out of area firearms shoppers through any licensed firearm dealer selected by you the customer. Any transfer fees charged by the receiving dealer are the responsibility of you the customer.

Except for firearms damaged in shipping or a wrong firearm shipped due to our error, firearms sales are final once shipped from our remote warehouse or shipped out of our store inventory.

Firearms refused by your receiving FFL and returned to us will incur return shipping and a 25% restock fee.

Firearms damaged in shipping or a wrong firearm shipped due to our error must be returned within 10 days with it's original packaging.

Do not accept transfer of a firearm damaged in shipping or a wrong firearm shipped due to our error. Firearms transferred to you by the receiving dealer are considered used and are not returnable.

Firearms that are or appear to have been used will be refused.

The customer is responsible for return shipping. We will not accept CODs. We will reimburse you for shipping in the case of firearms damaged in shipping or a wrong firearm shipped due to our error.

Returned firearms must be returned by the receiving dealer. Firearms shipped to us by non-licensees will be refused.

Additional shipping charges may apply to ammunition due to weight. Gun powder, primers, black powder percussion caps, and cannon fuse may incur additional hazardous material (hazmat) charges.

These items are not refundable. If hazmat charges apply you will be contacted for your approval before your order is processed.
